The Recipe Box

I know that we shall all enjoy this post as I hope that it will be filled with sweet treasures!
Recipes play a vital role in the daily life of a Young Women!

Kressy's Great Grandmothers Famous Chocolate Pie-only makes one pie so be sure to double or tripple it!

1 cups of sugar
2 1 ounce squares of Bakers Unsweetened Choc bars-chopped
1/3 cup self rising flour
a dash of salt
2 cups of whole milk
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
1 table vanilla
1 in baked pastry shell

In a saucepan combine sugar, flour, and salt: Gradually stir in milk and choc. squares. Cook and stir over medium heat till mixture boils mixing with a wire whisk constantly. Cook 2 min longer, remove from heat. Stir small amount of hot mixture into yolks; mix and return to main mixture. Cook and stir 2 min longer.
Remove from heat. Add butter, and vanilla and cool to room temperature. (I just go ahead and place in baked pie shell) pour into pastry shell.

Meringue: Beat 3 egg whites with 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar to soft peaks. Gradually add 6 tbl. sugar beating till stiff peaks. Spread atop pastry shell with pudding, sealing to pastry. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) until meringue is golden.
