An unexpected trip and chat with a retired pilot

Today after breakfast, I was cleaning up the kitchen when alan came bounding in to ask me to accompany him to the Griffin airport. My sisters and I have been trained since childbirth to be ready at any second to accompany Daddy, or Alan, in their last minute adventures! LOL. So I grabbed my purse, phone, and of course my camera! We first drove to Mrs. Bunns house (yes Ivis, the one in the same) to pick up a friends car. I then followed Alan in his car over to the little tiny Griffin airport. Unbeknowst to either of us, there was a fly-in going on that very morning. We made it for the very tale end but we did manage to see two planes. I know not either of their names but one was green and the other yellow. LOL. I took a few pix and then alan started talking to this 80 year old veteran with his daughter and Grandson. We chatted awhile, Alan and Mr. Taylor about the war and airplanes, and his daughter and I about homeschooling, children, Griffins history and Puerto Rico! Her husband had been in naval intelligence in Puerto Rico back in the 60s! We then parted leaving Alans car at the airport and returned home. Alan then bid us farewell and headed off the Athens to deliver and friends car in exchange for an airplane ride home tonight! Hence, his car being left at the airport. LOL. Whew!
Interesting morning!
