A trip to the post office-LOL
Our mission: To send off DVDs of the Film Fest for all of our friends.
Our little post office consists of a tiny building 2 miles up the road with one person on staff at any given time. It is generally empty but today, we found the tiny room crammed to capacity with a whopping number of 3 other people. LOL We squeezed inside and set our envelopes on the counter as the other people were still busy preparing their packages. The first envelope rang up for $0.83 ok, the next one, identical to the first rang $1.06, hmmmm.....We mirrored the puzzlement of the lady opposite the counter as she proceeded to weigh the next. $1.06. LOL. As did all the rest. I questioned Rachie as to the reason of the difference in price/wieght but she merely shrugged her shoulders. A few seconds later, the lady handed us back several envelopes that Rachie had not written a return address. "It is now required that you write a return address, the post office is returning anything without a return address" (?) How is that possible? LOL. Oh my goodness.
Well, after we had added our address to the envelopes -much to the chagrin of the people waiting behind us- the post office lady weighed once more the $0.83 envelope, this time it rang up for $1.06. LOL. I then asked for 10 stamps "Is there anything specific that you would like ma'am?" she asked "hmm... do you have anything with hats, or tea cups, or flowers? Or maybe airplanes, just anything in that area" I said smiling sweetly. -More groans from behind- The lady offered me a note book and I quickly settled on a new line of airplanes for Alan, much to the gratitude of the 3 other people. We then departed and gratefully returned home when Daddy asked "How did it go?" LOL
