Monday-An afternoon on the Steele Farm!

Monday afternoon we girls with all the little boy's and a few sticks that I had gathered from the front yard, (lol) loaded up into Daddy's truck. Our friends the Steeles had graciously invited us out to their farm to pick their ripe produce before it spoiled. Grabbing our pails, bug spray, and hats, Rachie and I picked Apples, Pears, and grapes, as Bethy took the little boys off on one of the many trails through the Steeles 40 acres! My one and only regret is that I left my best friend in the blogging world, my camera; sitting on the table at home by the door!! So there are no pictures of the lovely log cabin that Mr. and Mrs. Steele built, or the lovely vineyard surrounded by fruit trees. Or the cute little ponds that Mr. Steele has dug out, and all the lovely landscaping that Mrs. Steele has put forth so much energy!
After we had gathered all the ripe produce, the kids joined us and we jumped into the refreshing pool off the back deck. Mr. and Mrs. Steele joined us after they had brought out towels, ice cream, water for all including my dog, toys, and board games! They are truly a most remarkable and hospititable couple!
Mama joined us later on after a few errands in town, and we ended our day sitting on their large porch watching the humming birds. It's amazing! They have trained these little birds so that they will fly right up to where you are standing! And their were dozens of them swarming around all the feeders squeaking in a most adorable fashion. We then bid them farewell and started down their lovely walk way. Before I got to the car though, I stepped on a wasp and started hopping around with a bag of fresh venison that Mrs. Steele had shot. I bounced into the truck grateful that it was my left foot and not my right as I had to drive home. LOL
Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Steele for such an enjoyable time!!!!
