Sunday Fellowship at the Dallas'
Sunday Morning found me up at 3am cooking away a storm!! We had been invited to join the Dooley's from north Georgia to join them for fellowship! Daddy had met Mr. Dooley, an elder at his church, at the Uniting Church and Family conference in North Carolina. By 5:30 I rang the breakfast cow bell that summoned everyone for breakfast. I then hurriedly dressed and packed up the brownies, green bean casserole and 7lbs of fried chicken that I had cooked into the truck. We all piled in excepting Bethany (who much to Rachies and I distress is away visiting our cousin) and the lamb who much to my delight is now weaned!!! We made excellent timing as there are not many people who are out driving around at 6:30 in the morning on sunday! We arrived at the rondevouz an hour earlier than scheduled so we rolled down the windows and enjoyed an hours fun of family stories and tales, and I might add, corny jokes. LOL. We then followed the Dooley's over to the Dallas' house where the meeting was held. Much to our surprise (which we have found that this is happening repeatedly) we found that we had met the Dallas' before at the same Uniting church and fam conference in NC! We hadn't gotten to know eachother and this Sunday we had the pleasure of becoming better acquainted!! The Lord has really blessed our family in the last two years enabling us to meet several godly families who we now count as some of our best friends!
The service was held in what had previously intended to be a barn but reminds me more of a one room school house. It consists of a nice large room with plenty of windows and chairs, with a bathroom, and huge closet/pantry, where stored were the tables for the meal. After the meal we young ladies flocked outside into the shade of the beautiful woods with the baby's whilst the adults and guys chatted in the 'barn/church'. I finally persuaded Miss Carolyn Dallas to show me her garden which was such an inspiration to me!!! I have been to lazy to start one but maybe with the encouragement of Miss Carolyn and the Morton girls I hope to one day aspire. LOL.
I do not have a picture of the lovely garden but I assure you it was a sight of beauty! All too soon we parted with promises of letters and e-mails and we headed off to the country!
