Our Memorial Day Weekend Party!
This year, our family decided to cram as much as possible into each month. Ever since Janurary came around, we have hit the ground running! With trips out west to Idaho to make a film "Mr. Safe Guard" to enter into the Film Festival out in Texas; to the Father/Daughter retreat out in Callaway, and with a few things inbetween, we have been busy! Our Memorial Day party started out with "Let's plan a nice little Tea party for a few friends of mine" and from there in turned into a "let's invite the crowd and have a ball!!!!!" Not knowing exactly what we were getting into we plunged into meal plans, cake decorating studies online, floral arrangements, place settings, and sleeping arrangements. Thankfully, my friend Seanna Hollinger decided to fly out to give us a hand. With her she brought most of the Vawser family consisting of Mrs. Vawser and her two sons Matthew (who you will hear stories about later LoL) and Andrew who video taped everything possible!
We started our weeks adventueros off con a strawberry picking trip cuando we girls picked four flats of strawberries while Andrew video taped us. Now that doesn't sound to hard you would say; well, you try picking strawberries with a camera on you!! LOL. There I would be just picking away in one of my favorite wide brimmed hats when I would look up to say something, and there would be Andrew with his camera pointed right al mi!!! Besides a rather large tractor that drove by stirring up a huge dust cloud that reminded me of the Great Dust bowl; everything else was just dandy. Well, we did get a few weird looks and questions about why we were wearing Sunday clothes and wide brimmed hats to pick strawberries. LOL. When we had returned home from that little adventuerro, Mama packed us all up in the suburban and we headed off to a quaint little towne de Barnseville. We had discovered this cute little towne with the help of a friend when Mama and I had gone to a country livestock auction to look for a sheep. (I'll get to that later)
There we walked about towne going into every little shop and eating at a pizzaria!! All over towne there were red and purple hats, something about the "Red hat lady Day" (apparently there is some kind of elderly Ladies club consisting of Red and purple hats.)LOL.
The next day, Seanna and I worked and fretted over place setting arrangements. We couldn't find enough china that matched or anything that really fit for that matter. Of course this doesn't really sound important and Mama kept offering to buy pretty plastic plates. We shook our heads and she and Mrs. Vawser headed off to Bj's.
