Monday evening
After supper, we girls migrated to the barn again were we set about to ready the barn in hopes that the bigger guy's would join us! We danced several times and soon discouraged of any hope when after an attempt by Miss Rachie and Miss Abbi; we girls were pleasantly surprised to find the whole lot of guy's crossing the green! The girls grabbed their brothers and started the evenings activities off with the circle waltz. They did quite well and then Miss Rachie and Miss Abbi bravely decided to introduce the Duke of Kent. I was not quite feeling up to it and hadn't figured out how to call this dance to I leaned back and watched the progress. They eventually formed order out of the usual choas that a new dance invokes. I must say that I was quite impressed by the whole affair. And amused. Lovely y'all! We then formed a line and started off the Virginia Reel! Everyone present had a pretty good idea of what happens and without much calling we proceeded through the Reel for quite some time! Many thanks to Mrs. Morton who offered her hand to me as her partner, as my Daddy was at work.
