Friday evening back@the house
Friday evening towards the end of the day, I got sick and abandoned my beloved kitchen. Mama insisted on getting me something to eat so I left The girls in charge to wrap things up and jumped into the sub. I ran into El Charros for their famous chips and salsa and then arrived home to a full house! Whew was it jolly! People everywhere! We girls started unloading the baskets, serving water, and the Morton girls delicious cheese cakes, and chatting like magpies. The adults gathered around chatting and the kids were playing on the floor, outside with my sheep, and on the piano. I have no idea what the older guy's did as I only ever saw them when I needed some help with the trash, or with carrying things. Which I am very grateful for their services! As preplanned we started making Miss Adeline's famous quiche when I found that I was having to run here, and there, and in the end; I didn't help out with the quiche at all! It's kinda strange to have girls cooking in your own kitchen without you; but if it hadn't been for them, there wouldn't have been any food the next morning. Thank you girls for all the work that y'all did!!! Miss Dorothy and Rachie made beds here and beds there and with the help of the wonderful piano playing, we finally had everything ready for bed. I'm not exactly sure when everyone made it to their designated sleeping 'pads' but we girls all snuggled down between 12 and 1am and the mothers followed around 2, leaving the guy's up till 3:30! I'm not sure how they managed to work all the next day but they did!
